Composite products are made by combining two materials, one of which is reinforcement (such as carbon fiber) and the other is a matrix (such as thermoset epoxy resin). The combination of fiber and matrix results in composite material properties superior to those used alone. Examples of composites found in nature are wood, bamboo and bone, and an example of man-made early-produced composite is a combination of mud and straw used for more than 10,000 years.
